About Erin

Erin has always had a passion for healthy cooking and eating, and advocating for organic and sustainable food systems.  She is known by friends and family as “spice” to reflect her love for fusing unique and diverse spices and flavors to make the tastiest of healthy meals. Indeed, cooking is as much an art as it is a science, and it is Erin’s way to express her inner creativity.

Cooking became Erin’s means of relaxation and rejuvenation while in law school and throughout her practice as an environmental lawyer. She was introduced to the science and philosophy of Ayurveda in Santa Barbara in 2003. She has since incorporated Ayurvedic principles in her cooking and eating, and feels healthier than ever.

Motivated by her aspiration to be a proactive healer rather than a reactive fighter, Erin recently embraced a shift in her life’s path. In the fall of 2006, Erin spent three months in Mysore, South India studying Ashtanga yoga where she was further inspired by the Indian traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda. In the fall of 2007 she moved from San Francisco to Encinitas and enrolled in the Ayurveda practitioner program with Kerala Ayurveda Academy (formerly Ayurveda Institute of America).

In addition to her studies in Ayurveda, Erin is a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga yoga. She believes that the ancient sister sciences and philosophies of Yoga and Ayurveda together encompass universal principles that can be practiced and applied to heal and balance the mind, body and soul of every individual, our communities, and our planet.
