Thanks for visiting...

I have always had a passion for healthy cooking and eating. It goes hand-in-hand with my love for being in nature and my earnest efforts in advocating for more just and sustainable ways of being in the world. I believe that pure and sustainable agriculture and food systems are the essence of an individual's health, a clean environment and social justice in any community.

Cooking became an activity of choice for relaxation and rejuvenation (and procrastination) while I was in law school and has continued to be a favored "hobby" amidst my practice as an environmental lawyer (currently for Katovich Law Group).  Indeed, cooking is as much an art as it is a science, and it has been a wonderful way for me to express my inner creativity.

I was introduced to the science and philosophy of Ayurveda in Santa Barbara in 2003.  I have since incorporated Ayurvedic principles in my own cooking and eating practices, and I feel healthier than ever.  In addition, from 2007-2008 I studied Ayurveda in the U.S. through Kerala Ayurveda Academy's Ayurvedic Practitioner Program. Most recently, in the fall of 2008, I traveled to India and completed a clinical internship at the Dixit Health Clinic in Mysore and Ayurvedic rejuvenation treatments (panchakarma) at the Poonthottam Ayurvedasramam in Kerela. While formal training is essential, much of my learning has come from my efforts to live these teachings in my daily life.

In addition to my continued joy and experiments in sattvic cooking and eating (and ultimately sattvic way of being in the world), I am a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga and am currently a student of Tim Miller's in Encinitas , CA.  I believe that the ancient sister sciences and philosophies of Yoga and Ayurveda together encompass universal principles that can be practiced and applied to heal and balance the mind, body and soul of each individual, every local community, and our planet as a whole.

I hope you find this site helpful and joyful.
