Happenings

  • Ayurveda 101 Cooking Class (Sun., Jan. 9, 2011) In this workshop, we'll go over the fundamentals of Ayurvedic nutrition, including eating for your body-mind type, the importance of spices, and incorporating the six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, astringent and bitter) in every meal. Includes hands-on cooking demonstration, organic Ayurvedic dinner, information materials, and recipes!
    Location: Private Home in Spokane (on the South Hill)
    Time: 4-7pm
    Cost: $30.00 per person

  • Sangha and Supper (Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011) This is a bi-monthly event starting in 2011, as a way to bring community together and to raise funds to support the Alliance for Greater Well-Being (offering yoga classes to underserved communities in Spokane).
    This months Sangha and Supper will be led by meditation teacher Dori Langevin. The evening will commence with a short "dharma" talk followed by a 20 minute guided meditation. We will then enjoy a tasty organic vegetarian meal together.
    Limited to the first 20 people to register.

  • Cooking With Spices (Sunday Mar. 13, 2011) In this class we will delve deeper into the creative use of herbs and spices, to both enhance the flavor of your food as well as to boost your digestive fire to promote better health. It is recommended that you have participated in one of the Ayurveda 101 cooking classes, or have some basic knowledge of Ayurveda. Includes hands-on cooking demonstration, an organic meal, recipes and materials!
